A little spoilery article.
One Orson is apparently not enough for Desperate Housewives. Kyle Maclachlan is a permanent fixture on Wisteria Lane as Bree’s klepto hubby, Orson Hodge. But now, the series is adding veteran actor Orson Bean, 81, in the recurring role of Roy. He will be Karen McCluskey’s (Kathryn Joosten) new (and equally curmudgeonly) boyfriend, filling the void left in Mrs. M’s life by the deaths of her only two friends, Ida Greenberg and Edie Britt. Creator Marc Cherry tells me we can expect Roy to “stick around for awhile,” until of course he dies and McCluskey sticks him in her basement freezer!

Wisteria Lane’s newest resident, Drea DeMatteo, has found her family.
Jeffrey Nordling and Beau Mirchoff have joined the cast of ABC’s dramedy “Desperate Housewives” as regulars next season.
Nordling will be playing a New York landscape designer who moves to Wisteria Lane with his wife (DeMatteo) and their tightly wound, sexy and intense son (Mirchoff).
Heading into its sixth season, “Desperate” has been beefing up the cast with new faces, including new regulars DeMatteo, Nordling, Mirchoff and Maiara Walsh and returning Andrea Bowen.
APA-repped Nordling most recently co-starred in the seventh season of Fox’s hit drama “24.” He also co-starred on FX’s “Dirt” opposite Courteney Cox.
Mirchoff, repped by APA and managed by Vital Management Group, starred in Sony’s “The Grudge 3″ last year.

After a one-year absence from Wisteria Lane, Andrea Bowen has been invited back to Desperate Housewives. The 19-year-old actress, who plays Susan’s daughter, Julie, did return for one episode last season but now the character is a year older and will be a changed woman linked to the new season’s mystery. I spoke with her exclusively.
You told me in April that you’d be back on Housewives this season and now it’s official. Congrats!
Thanks. This show has always had a huge place in my heart. {Creator] Marc Cherry explained to me after the five-year jump that he needed my character to go away for a while so that we could miss her and then come back with a big splash. He reminded me of that two days ago when he called to touch base about my overall story line this year. This is the first time Julie’s had a solid story arc, which is pretty cool. I have to keep things quiet, because a lot of what has to do with me this year is saucier. Basically, I’m not the same character who left. I come back a different person. Julie has gone through a lot and comes back…different. She’s not the same girl everyone watched grow up.
Sounds like you’re involved in the new season mystery plot.
I don’t know if I can say. I can hint at the fact that I might be. I have a lot of interaction with the Italian family.
The new family’s son is only 19, and Julie is now 25. So if you get hooked up with him, would that make you a cougar?
A cougar at 25, right? I think there’s definite interest in Julie from that character, so we’ll have to see how that plays out. But there’s going to be some shocking twists and turns.
You used the word ‘saucier’. Does that mean sexier?
I think that’s where we’re headed. We alluded to Julie losing her virginity to Austin, but that was still innocent to some extent. What I take on this year will be less innocent. I always knew growing up on Desperate Housewives could lead to this possibility. It’s better that I’ll get to do it with my friends around me.
How will she be different from the last time we saw her?
Keep in mind I started playing Julie when she was 12 years old and now I’m playing her as a 25-year-old women—all in the span of six seasons. Physically, I believe I’m going to look much different as well. As of right now I believe there will be a color change. I’m blonde now, and I can definitely tell you it’s not going to be for long. But it’s going to be her actions this season that will make her different. She’s still going to be kind of the moral compass of the show, but she’ll be doing some things that shock people.
I hear she’s back without her older boyfriend (Steven Weber), whom we met in last year’s club fire episode?
I don’t believe he’s back. She’s alone. I come back with a story line completely independent of that. And I think it’s independent of Susan. She’ll still have a prominent relationship with her mother, but this year I get a lot of my own storylines that are just strictly for Julie. And that’s very exciting.

The latest Desperate Housewives news has us in the mood for a threesome.
The facts are these: Drea de Matteo’s character will have a 19-year-old son who we hear is a bit of a lady-killer. Maiara Walsh, who plays Gaby’s headstrong niece, has been promoted to be a series regular. ABC has announced that Andrea Bowen, Susan’s eye-rolling daughter, Julie, will return to the show for the Season 6 premiere. (TVGuide.com has confirmed that her stay on Wisteria Lane will be significantly longer.)
Isn’t it time we got these crazy kids together? So let’s cast the Italian Stallion already, shall we?
-Shoe-polish his hair and Disney vet Cody Linley (he of the fake-torrid ballroom affair with Julianne Hough on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and Disney’s Hannah Montana) might make for an interesting suitor. He’s got gawky charm to spare.
-Val Emmich, who worked Betty’s last nerve as her space-case neighbor on Ugly Betty, might be just the right kind of soulful to appeal to these different ladies.
-Former child star Josh Peck, who surprised us last year with The Wackness, does a great Brooklyn accent.
So those are our ideas — what are yours? Vote in the poll below, or vote “someone else” and write in your choice in the comments section below.

The news of Andrea Bowen returning to Desperate Housewives for the season-six premiere is sparking debate that her homecoming means Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) is at the altar, behind the veil and getting married to Mike Delfino (James Denton).
Spoiler Alert: We’re giving you every chance not to peek inside at the evidence we’ve compiled because all signs point to one Wisteria Lane resident over the others.
Here are the five reasons to support who we think is under the veil…
Without dissing Dana Delany (Katherine Mayfair), we have a gut feeling that Susan is actually the blushing bride-to-be. The facts are these:
1. Andrea Bowen is returning as Julie Mayer in a regular capacity this season. Mike always treated her like his own daughter while dating her mom, and she’d need to be back to be a bridesmaid in the wedding.
2. Karl Mayer (Richard Burgi), Susan’s ex-husband, was at the wedding (keep your eyes peeled on the 40-second mark). He has no ties to Katherine and he despises Mike. If it isn’t Susan, why would he be there?
3. The season finale script reads “The family is reunited” when Susan and Mike embraced after their near-death experience. Reunited and it feels so good, no?
4. Because executive producer Marc Cherry wants them together. Regarding the Mike and Susan relationship, Cherry said back at the Paley Festival: “The idea is, we’ll get back there. I don’t know when. If ABC makes a deal with all of us, it looks like we have a few years to play this out, so I would imagine at some point in time Susan and Mike will find their way back in each other’s universe.” We think it’s about time, don’t you?
5. Finally, we here at WWK simply want it to be Susan because we’re sick of the merry-go-round of keeping them apart.
Now that we’ve given you our reasons for why we think Susan Mayer is getting hitched to Mike, it’s time to hit the comments with who you think is the new bride. Susan Delfino or Katherine Delfino? You decide!

In May’s “Desperate Housewives” season finale, we saw a lot happen to Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), including a near-death experience with her son.
After Susan’s ex, Mike (James Denton), rushed to their rescue, the two shared a passionate kiss. That kiss was followed by a wedding scene, in which Mike was marrying a veiled bride… but was the bride Susan? Or was it his fiancee, Katherine Mayfair (Dana Delany)?
We won’t find out for sure until this fall, but sources tell me September’s “Desperate Housewives” premiere is set to feature a Susan Mayer wedding… or the preparations for one at least (who knows if she’ll actually go through with the “I do”s).
Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Susan wasn’t the lady Mike married in the season finale. As every “Desperate” fan knows, the show is no stranger to flashbacks, divorces or second chances. But I’m beginning to think the tide turned in Katherine’s favor. Just my gut feeling.
Either way, there’s good news for Susan on the horizon. Rumor has it, daughter Julie (Andrea Bowen), who was mostly M.I.A. last season when “DH” jumped forward five years and sent her off to college, will return to Wisteria Lane full time come fall.
Julie’s father, Susan’s ex Karl (Richard Burgi), who hooked up with Bree Hodge (Marcia Cross) in the season finale will supposedly be showing up on a regular basis as well.
Thoughts?

Wisteria Lane is welcoming back one of its own this fall: Original Desperate Housewives star Andrea Bowen has signed on to reprise her role as Susan’s eldest spawn, Julie.
Although ABC would only confirm that Bowen is set to appear in the Sept. 27 season premiere, a Housewives insider tells that the actress is returning as a series regular.
Bowen vanished from Housewives at the end of season 4, a casualty of the show’s four-year flash forward. She briefly returned last season when Julie, on break from college, announced that she was dating her 40-year-old professor Lloyd (Steven Weber). It’s not clear if he’ll be accompanying her back home, but I’m guessing not.
Reaction to Julie’s reappearance? Sound off below!

This isn’t news to DFO subscribers, but I thought you’d all like to “officially” hear it from the Aus man himself.

The guest of honor at the Creative Coalition’s Membership Meeting on Thursday, June 18, at the HBO terrace was White House social secretary Desiree Rogers. Actor-socialite Matthew Modine stopped by but split after the first five minutes, as did Creative Coalition co-president Tony Goldwyn (“he had to be somewhere,” explained co-president Tim Daly).
Actress Dana Delaney moderated a forum with Ms. Rogers, who spoke about the White House becoming the people’s house, and its role in inspiring students and children. “I’ve never done this before,” Ms. Delany exclaimed beforehand.
The adorable Desperate Housewife also talked about the first lady’s style, saying, “I personally am excited that Michelle Obama wears J. Crew ‘cause I’m a J.Crew addict.”
Of Ms. Rogers, Ms. Delaney added: “She’s … so brilliant, and yet so accessible. She’s like your girlfriend! You just want to hang out with her!” And her style? “Extremely chic.” Ms. Delaney’s YSL dress matched Ms. Rogers’ red and black ensemble. “Don’t you think we’re very well coordinated?” the moderator asked the audience. Later, she exulted: “I’m just happy to see sexy back in the White House.”
Read on..
*headdesk* They spelt her last name wrong.. AGAIN. I think she should start wearing a name tag, she could color coordinate them while bringing sexy back. Can anybody else hear her saying “Extremely chic.”? I’m having this Jay Leno flashback where she described the women in the Amazon as “so sexy.”

Some really last minute casting news coming out of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, as a resident of the famed Wysteria Lane heads out to become chummy with some angry prehistoric fish!
Variety reports that “Desperate Housewives” star Ricardo Chavira has signed up to star in Aja’s remake of Piranha, joining the already announced Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss, Dina Meyer, Brooklynn Proulx, Quinn Lord, Riley Steele, Jessica Szohr, Jerry O’Connell, Paul Scheer, Cody Longo, Riley Steele, Eli Roth, and dozens of drunk half-naked victims.
No word yet on whom Chavira will be playing, but I’m sure that tidbit of info will slither out soon enough.
Look for the flick to be jumping off the screen in 3D in 2010!
