7.23 - Come on Over for Dinner
I’d like to thank all of you who came out last night to support and chat with me during our live twitcam chat last night. I’d love to hear what you thought about it and if you’d like to ever try it again!
Times are very different for “Desperate Housewives” this season as it approaches Sunday’s (May 15) two-hour Season 7 finale with no official word on whether it’s returning next season.
Reports in April stated that the last holdouts among the “Housewives” stars to sign on for next season were close to finalizing their deal, which would be followed soon after by an official announcement from ABC. Yet, that announcement has yet to come.
“Desperate” husband, James Denton, had previously said the negotiations had become more complicated than expected and that the men hadn’t even been approached pending the women’s negotiations. That seems to have changed.
“Yes, we’ve been approached,” Doug Savant, who plays Tom Scavo, tells Zap2it. “Here’s the thing. I feel very confident. There’s no official announcement. We’re not officially picked up. Upfronts are coming up, so we should know something by the middle of the month.”
Despite repeated denials by both Susan Lucci and her publicist, BlindGossip can report that Lucci will definitely be joining Desperate Housewives next season. However, rest assured that she will be fulfilling her commitment to tape All My Children through the end of the series. Both All My Children and Desperate Housewives are ABC shows, and the network and Lucci are working together to ensure a smooth transition to the new show. The contract with ABC has been signed, and the official announcement will be made next week.
